Functional Nutrition & Health Coaching

A Functional Nutrition Health Coach serves as your mentor, guide, and partner, empowering you to take control of your health by providing continuous support, guidance, and accountability. Together, we will establish realistic goals, cultivate new habits, and implement sustainable lifestyle changes to boost your vitality and well-being using a holistic approach rooted in functional medicine principles and nutritional science. Through an in-depth analysis of your medical background, lifestyle, biochemistry, environment, and diet, we will craft a personalized plan tailored to your specific needs and goals.

 


 

Getting Started

FREE Discovery Call (30 minutes) - Virtual

A Discovery Call is an opportunity for us to assess your overall health and determine if coaching is right for you! Before the call, you will complete a brief questionnaire to help me understand your current lifestyle, health issues, and primary wellness objectives. During our conversation, we will touch on your health background, and I will ask questions to gain a better understanding of your situation and how to help you reach your goals. This is also a chance for you to share about your life, aspirations, and what has led you to this point. I will offer valuable insights on what might be hindering your optimal well-being – some of which you can act on right away! If we decide to proceed together after the call, you will receive information on the services and packages available, and together, we will tailor a program that aligns with your objectives, schedule, and budget.

Initial Assessment (90-120 minutes) - In person or virtual

The next step involves filling out a range of forms to delve deep into your medical history, current lifestyle, dietary habits, food preferences, allergies, medications, exercise routine, sleep patterns, environmental influences, and relationships. This comprehensive intake will assist me in developing a strategy to make the best use of our session which may include conducting research and gathering helpful studies and educational resources that will be shared with you (if you want them!). 

During our time together we will work on understanding your objectives, setting priorities, defining success metrics, and breaking them down into manageable, incremental tasks with a detailed plan to kickstart the process. Despite our best intentions, life can throw curveballs, so we'll address potential challenges and brainstorm strategies to overcome them. We'll clarify the support I can offer within my expertise and when it might be necessary to seek assistance from other professionals. Additionally, we'll discuss setbacks and mistakes as valuable learning experiences that can help us adjust and refocus on our goals.

After the session, you will receive a thorough summary of our initial assessment, supplementary materials, and a roadmap for your health and wellness journey. If you opt for my 3-month or 6-month coaching program, we will meet biweekly to monitor progress and adjust the plan as needed. If you decide not to commit to a coaching program at this time, you can choose to follow parts or all of the plan independently, with the option of scheduling individual coaching sessions as needed.
 


Take Your Health & Wellness Journey to the Next Level

Follow-up Coaching Session (60 minutes) - In person or virtual

Once you complete your initial assessment, additional sessions can be scheduled as needed to review your goals, modify your action plan, and receive support and guidance on any new concerns or challenges.

 

Pantry Refresh (75 minutes) - In person or virtual

Get ready for a complete revamp and reorganization of your pantry, fridge, and freezer. Let's work together to sort through everything and establish a more nutrient-rich food selection at home, making it simpler for you to prepare meals from scratch (and eliminate what you no longer need). This isn't about taking away foods that bring you joy. It's about understanding how to strike a balance between nutrition and pleasure.

 

Guided Grocery Tour (75 minutes) - In person or virtual

I will guide you aisle by aisle in your favorite grocery store, sharing my extensive knowledge on nutritional values, ingredient benefits, and interpreting food labels. Together, we will navigate the overwhelming array of options and choose foods that align with your specific health goals, be it improving digestion, increasing energy levels, or adhering to dietary restrictions. Learn how to read food labels accurately to ensure a proper nutrient balance and avoid harmful ingredients. Moreover, gain insights into various health certifications such as grass-fed, pasture-raised, non-GMO, and Organic, allowing you to differentiate between genuine claims and mere marketing strategies.

This service caters to everyone, whether you're a novice seeking guidance on eating healthier or have specific dietary requirements and want to diversify your food options. I provide valuable advice on meal planning and preparation to make healthy eating sustainable, enjoyable, and budget-friendly. By the end of our session, you'll leave the grocery store feeling empowered, with a cart filled with nutritious foods and the assurance to make health-conscious choices both in the kitchen and beyond.

 

HealThy Cooking 101 (90 minutes) - In person or virtual

A personalized cooking session aimed at more than just recipe-following. Discover how to seamlessly integrate meal planning, grocery shopping, and cooking into your hectic schedule to savor healthy, delightful meals at home. Say goodbye to last-minute dinner dilemmas after a long day. Gain insights on stocking your pantry with essentials, simplifying grocery trips, and prepping ahead to streamline your cooking routine. Catering to a family of selective eaters? Explore strategies to engage everyone in meal planning and have nutritious, crowd-pleasing options ready when you need them.
